    My First DIY Kiddie Party

I have always admired how my sister lovingly completes DIY/craft projects for my nephew’s birthday, or Halloween, Valentine’s Day, Easter, etc. Before I had my dear son, I told myself that I will be able to do that one day too. And with that I was thinking of DIY parties for my “future” kid/s.  Yet even if my son arrived 3 years ago, I have never really undertaken to prepare a party that is completely DIY. Well, until his third birthday at toddler school.

    Cheers To Friendship

Our worlds may now be far apart. We may not be blessed with a chance to do this often. But every moment spent with them counts. Cheers to my high school best friends and cheers to 20+ years of knowing each other, understanding where we have been, accepting what we have become, and watching each other grow!

    A Coed Baby Shower Party!

Our friends and partners from Monsees Cafe honored me and hubby with a coed baby shower party last Saturday. The invite was sent via email and Facebook and we’re glad that almost everyone we invited came 🙂 It wasn’t a surprise party which I absolutely prefer because I wanted to have a say in the menu and in the guest list. I wanted it to be a small party to be attended only by my immediate family and the closest friends from elementary school all the way to my current workplace. Everything was sort of in a rush and was finalized only in less than a week. We didn’t even…

    Foodbuzz 24×24: Grilled Cheese Overload

I’m so excited to tell you that after more than a month of not cooking, I re-conquered my kitchen only for Foodbuzz 24×24. I kinda miss cooking and figured that being in a Cohen diet program should not really deter me from doing what I love to do. I feel so thankful that Foodbuzz allowed me to participate in this month’s 24×24 where 24 foodies from all over the world are to prepare 24 over-the-top meals within 24 hours. My contribution to Foodbuzz 24×24 this month is called Grilled Cheese Overload. August is considered as the National Sandwich month and also the National-Back-to-School month. I figured that hosting a grilled cheese…

Foodbuzz 24×24: Momofuku Dinner At Home

I’m so happy that after a long while of not posting (I was very busy with the cupcakes), I’m back with a really happy post. Guess what, I’ve been chosen to participate in this month’s Foodbuzz 24×24! Yep, this is my fourth participation and as always, I’m hoping that it’s not the last 🙂 For some of you who still don’t know, Foodbuzz 24×24 is a monthly roundup of 24 epic meals hosted by 24 Foodbuzz Featured Publishers in 24 different parts of the world. I proposed to recreate David Chang’s dishes and host my version of a Momofuku dinner at home. Armed with my Momofuku book, I went on…

Foodbuzz 24×24: Food, Love, and Rock & Roll, A Rockaoke Party

March has always been a month of parties for us because it is my and my husband’s birthday month.  This year, we thought it would be a great idea to give a new meaning to March Madness and have a joint party that would highlight the two things that we are most passionate about: in my case, it’s food, and for him, it’s music. Thus, when Foodbuzz sent out the call to submission for March 24×24, I didn’t hesitate to propose a Rockaoke party called “Food, Love, and Rock & Roll” where hubby’s band will provide music and entertainment and I shall take care of the food. As most of…

Foodbuzz 24×24: Beyond Turkey, A Modern Thanksgiving Dinner

Who would have thought that I would be this lucky to get an opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving as sponsored by Foodbuzz? It’s not a tradition in the Philippines to celebrate Thanksgiving and I was fortunate to have been given the chance to participate in this month’s Foodbuzz 24×24 to celebrate Thanksgiving with friends for the very first time. As some of you already know, Foodbuzz 24×24 is an online round-up of dinner parties hosted by Foodbuzz’s Featured Publishers and this equates to 24 epic meals hosted within 24 hours in 24 different parts of the world! This is my second participation in Foodbuzz 24×24 (first time was in September) and…

    Foodbuzz 24×24: Meal. Teal. It’s a Deal!

I was stoked when my proposal for Foodbuzz 24×24 got accepted. Each month, 24 Foodbuzz Featured Publishers are selected to blog their most over the top meal on the same day (with cash stipend from Foodbuzz). This month, Foodbuzz partners with Electrolux where the stipend is matched with a donation to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. So, free meal with friends? Donation to the OCRF? It’s a Deal! 🙂 Just to tell you a bit about ovarian cancer… Do you know that there are about 7,387 women in the Philippines estimated to be diagnosed with ovarian cancer? That’s more than the islands comprising our Archipelago! Ovarian cancer is usually asymptomatic…

    Cooking For Officemates

*Gasp* Was I too bold to agree to cook for my officemates? The most number of people I cooked for was 6. This time I’m gonna cook for 10-12. And it’s not just a regular okay-i-baked-burnt-cookies-last-night-but-i-still-brought-some-for-you thingie 😛 It’s an official catering duty for a mid-office party as a celebration for the delivery of a big account. It’s more like an informal affair but it’s two days from now! *Another gasp!* Here’s what I’ll make for them: Appetizers: Crackers with Three Dips (cheese, mayo, oil-based dips) Cream Cheese Bruschetta with Blueberry Compote Salad: Bounty Salad with Strawberry Vinaigrette Meat: Southern Style Buffalo Wings Pasta: Baked Macaroni with Bechamel Sauce Desserts:…
