Lemony Tuna Linguine

This is another easy-peasy pasta dish that I’m sure you’ll be able to prepare in less than 30 minutes 🙂 And in view of the simplicity of this dish, I’m gonna go straight to the point.


  • 2T olive oil
  • 2-3 cans of tuna (I used the hot & spicy variant)
  • 1/2 kilo fresh tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/2 medium onion, copped
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 2 pcs. bay leaf
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 300 grams cooked linguine

Heat up olive oil in a pan and saute the onion and garlic. Next add the tomatoes. There are some who prefer their tomatoes to be tender.  For pasta sauces, I prefer mine a little mashed up or soggy. Cook depending on how you prefer your tomatoes. Add your lemon juice and canned tuna. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 3 minutes.

Scoop up cooked linguine on a plate and smother with the sauce. Sprinkle with Italian herbs when serving. You can also put cheese on top but I opted not to because it’s additional calories 😛

And it’s that easy. You’re done!

In fact, it’s so freakin’ easy it took me longer to write this post than to cook the pasta dish itself!

Try this simple dish at home and you’d be amazed at how simple ingredients would bring out an easy and simple dish that doesn’t compromise taste and flavor 🙂
