Christmas Sideline

Christmas is so near (96 days to go) and I’ve been getting encouragement to sell some of what I cook this season.

Just to give you a short background, I always think of some business on the side during Christmas season. Like one time, I made jewelry using precious stones and took home profits about 4x my capital. Another time, I got a bagmaker do a Samsonite/Victorinox-like toiletry kit. I sold some and gave the rest as gifts. The quality was really nice and would you believe the bagmaker charged me for only about $2.50 each? And then another time, I got a different bagmaker and asked her to make me passport holders made of crocodile skin with matching bag tags, and Jansport-like packing cubes. I sold them also during Christmas season. [I was into traveling during those days]

Now that I’m into cooking, I’ve been getting encouragement from friends and hubby to sell what I cook. An office friend suggested I make my cheesecake brownie bars. Another said I could ask for orders for my Hainanese chicken. And then this weekend, hubby told me I can sell my whole chicken variants ~ Hainanese, Honey-Garlic Turbo Roasted, and Kotopoulo Lemonato.

Hmmm. I don’t know.

Am I ready?

LOL, you just gave me a good scare when you mentioned Christmas is less than 100 days away! I can pretty much say I’m so not ready, plus it’s hard to get into any kind of holiday spirit when the weather is still 109 degrees F. Wow, time really flies by when you’re having fun–I can’t believe it’s almost Christmas. You gave me some ideas for Christmas 🙂

Thanks for the Christmas reminder. I have to start shopping for my nieces and nephews. So many of them, LOL.
