    Lemon-Calamansi Crumble Bars

This dish is inspired by The Pioneer Woman’s Creamy Lemon Crumb Squares. Actually, I’ve been thinking of ways to vary this Lemon Pie recipe which was also picked up from The Pioneer Woman. (Oh yes, I love her!) The idea to come up with crumble bars came from hubby who, apparently, loves my Apple Crumble so much. He said why not find a lemon crumble recipe online and try that one out. That was such a great idea. So thanks to hubby and my online best friend, Google, for leading me to The Pioneer Woman’s Creamy Lemon Crumb Squares recipe 🙂 Although I wanted to use all lemons for this dessert, I…

    Lemony Tuna Linguine

This is another easy-peasy pasta dish that I’m sure you’ll be able to prepare in less than 30 minutes 🙂 And in view of the simplicity of this dish, I’m gonna go straight to the point. Ingredients: 2T olive oil 2-3 cans of tuna (I used the hot & spicy variant) 1/2 kilo fresh tomatoes, chopped 1/2 medium onion, copped 3 cloves garlic, chopped 2 pcs. bay leaf juice of 1 lemon salt and pepper to taste 300 grams cooked linguine Heat up olive oil in a pan and saute the onion and garlic. Next add the tomatoes. There are some who prefer their tomatoes to be tender.  For pasta…

    Lemon Pie

We had desserts earlier in Cibo and seeing that lemon tart was among the choices, I didn’t have a hard time thinking what to get. Lemon tart it is. However, it was so sour that I couldn’t help but squint my eyes at every bite. As much as I do love lemons, I don’t want it to be too over-empowering in a dessert such that I’ll be tempted to ask for salt to complement it. Back at home and with nothing to do as I wait for hubby, I decided to make my own lemon pie. There’s this recipe from The Pioneer Woman for a key lime pie that’s resting…

    Lemon Buttercream Frosting

I used to love mixing chocolates with mint. Now, I’m so into mixing chocolates with something citrus. Previously, I made decadent chocolate cupcakes and smothered them with cream cheese calamansi sauce. You can find the recipe here. For the mid-afternoon office party yesterday,  I made the same decadent chocolate cupcakes but used a simple lemon/calamansi buttercream frosting instead.   photo of my cupcakes by Happy Trails

    Kotopoulo Lemonato

I originally posted this on June 6, 2010 in YadaYadaYada. Hubby and I went out today to hunt for a new car to buy. We had been very busy since we got back from the States and we got some plans that didn’t push through. We haven’t eaten in Dampa and Cyma for a very long time and we planned to eat there soon. Despite the heat and exhaustion, we drove to Dampa in Ortigas Home Depot for a very late lunch (3PM yikes). Plan 1 accomplished. And for dinner, although we didn’t get to go out to eat at Cyma, I decided to feed hubby his most favorite dish…
