    Foodtrip Friday: Pan De Sal Pizza

    Here’s another post that deals with leftovers. It’s called Pan De Sal Pizza 🙂 Pan de sal (“salt bread”) is a rounded bread made of flour, eggs, lard, yeast, sugar, and salt. It is the favorite bread in the Philippines and the best part of the day to have one is early in the morning. However, since we’ve been seeing some stores that sell freshly-baked pan de sal all day long, we can practically eat pan de sal any time of the day now! 🙂 My favorite resto that offers everything pan de sal is of course, The Bread Bag Pandesal Bar.

    There’s a small pizzeria in our condo and the smell of pizza cookin’ in the oven would always fill the lobby all the way down to the basement parking. I don’t like their pizza but the smell of fresh pizza crust is like no other. It makes you crave for pizza even if you’re full. This evening, I re-created that smell in our very own unit 🙂 I was surprised at how easy it is to make pizza and thankful at that because it will help me clean up my ref and make something good out of our leftovers!     Attack of the Pizookie

    If you’re wondering what a Pizookie is, it’s the famous dessert originally from BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse. As Wikipedia describes it: “[A Pizookie is] a fresh baked cookie (white chocolate and macadamia nut or chocolate chip), with vanilla ice cream, served in a pizza style pan.” In simple arithmetic, it’s Pizza pan + Cookie = Pizookie! Tonight, I tried the White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Pizookie. Very easy to make. Here are the ingredients:
